Advent #1

They have a beautiful way of celebrating throughout all of December, starting with the 4 Sundays in December. Every Sunday you get together with friends and family and sing songs, drink tea, and eat cookies. You have a wreath with 4 candles on it and you light one each Sunday, until the last one when all of the candles are lit. We were invited over to a great families house in our ward, the Piles, to initiate us into the tradition. It was a blast, however, we forgot our camera so we have no pictures...however, we have decided to do our advent nights on family home evening night so we can do it with friends on Sunday, then light our own wreath on Mondays, included with the telling of the Christmas story, sipping home made hot coco, and eating a treats, while singing English Christmas songs. It really is special, Americans you should try it! Steve has also decided that each family home evening on Sunday he brings home small presents to the boys, to reiterate why we get presents, and the importance of giving presents.
